Idea Books
Description:
Idea books are something that we did our sophomore year. Idea books are a collection of essays relating to different topics and prompts. We did four sets, each with five essays. Each set had an essay relating to our history class, english class, chemistry class, one on a global topic, and one where we created the prompt. Each set relates to an overall topic that we were talking about in every class, and well as some individual topics. With each idea book we also practiced different techniques on how to write the essay. We were also able to practice our citing skills.
Pillar:
I put Idea Books under the pillar Communicate ideas because they were a way we could express our idea and opinion on different topics. Ideas books have helped me so I can now organize my ideas, reasons, and evidence in a logical sequence. It has also helped me be able to introduce and develop a clear and precise claim.
Reflection:
Idea books helped me learn about the world by giving me opportunities to do research on a wide variety of topics that involve the world, and some of its many issues. It also made aware of some issues I had no idea were issues. Idea books helped me learn about myself by giving me an opinion and writing about it.
