PALs
PALs stands for Peer Assistance Leadership and Service, and is an organization that is highly selective at my school requiring an application and interview. Through PALs I mentor elementary and middle school students twice a week to foster communication and sense of belonging for urban youth. We also participate in community service activities together. I spend approximately five hours per week 35 weeks out of the year participating in PALs activities. I have also gotten involved in a lot of community service through PALS. With PALS, we get 20 hours each semester for traveling to elementary schools during the week for 40 minutes of time with our palees. We are also required to earn 12 hours each semester, which we earn volunteering at the Trail of Lights, and other service opportunities
